Reluctance

A suburb of Baltimore, MD, the man is sorry to see an old hamburger joint which has been around since his childhood remodeled into a donut shop. He walked over from a bar across the street, quite drunk and stumbling. He was hostile towards the remodeling crew but nevertheless posed for my photo.

Honey, Look!

I would've never--not in hundred years--thought to balance the bear-like man with a teddy bear looking right at him.

Adolescent and An Old Lady

This was a photographer's dream. The old lady held that same pose for over ten minutes oblivious of my presence while I stepped in closer each time to compose a better shot. She almost seems as if she's reminiscing the day which she'd posed for Degas but the sculpture has to out age her by at least 50 years. Taken at the West Wing of the National Gallery of Art, DC.

My Old Man

For the sake of an update, and because I'm quite fond of this photo, I'm reposting this picture from my old blog. My old man keeping himself busy on his day off.

Texture Study 6: Lake Royal

I haven't been shooting too many photos lately so I decided to stop by and snap a few shots of the frozen lake near my house. Unfortunately, none of the images turned out interesting so I tried another go at a texture study by layering the ice images on top of the scenery. Quite frankly, I think this composite turned out pretty bland, though I'm getting closer to achieving the effect I want from my texture experiments.

I find that, many times, it's difficult to judge an image after working on it for a long time; it's as if I become immune to whatever worth I initially saw in the image. Perhaps that explains why I don't think any of my photos are really worth posting at all. Nevertheless, I’m trying to update this new blog as frequently as possible; keeping a photoblog helps me continue shooting and experimenting on regular basis. Daily updates are beyond my means at this time but I'm aiming to update at least twice a week.

Crime Scene

Here's another one from the old blog which was taken at an indoor shooting range a few months back.

September 11

This is the first new photo for this blog, meaning it wasn't carried over from the old one. The rose is painted on a side wall of a commercial building in Arlington, Virginia.

Victims & My Baby

On my way to work, I encountered this car with a California license tag driving on Interstate 495, Virginia.

For a nude landscape photography assignment, I shot this of someone's feet instead.
